The Fête in Lascours officially starts tonight. An apéritif on the Cours will kick off the festivities. So this has been a week of getting ready. Sylvain has had meetings and various errands to run. As for Maëva, the most important thing of the week was finishing up the float (le char) that she'll ride on in Sunday morning's parade (la cavalcade). Wednesday afternoon, we went to help finish decorating the float with crêpe paper flowers. The float is a big ferry boat - "Lascours Ferries" - decorated to look like one of the Corsica ferries. I took Maëva with me to help out because I wanted her to be able to get comfortable with the float in advance. I'm a bit worried that she'll be scared on Sunday morning and won't want to ride. That would be a shame because she's going to look very cute in her little sailor dress and hat. Wednesday, she was scared at first, but she eventually got in and then didn't want to get out, of course. Hopefully, the same thing will happen on Sunday, although there will be horses pulling it and many more people around. More news later . . . By the way, we won't be around for a hangout on Sunday as we'll be busy with festivalizing!

So...how did riding on the float go?
Ugh ... I'll write about it in its own post.
