Laureva Lafavour (1933-2013)

Former Juneau resident Laureva
“Reva” Lafavour passed away Sunday, July 28 with both of her sons at her side
in Bellevue, Washington where she has resided since 1998. Reva was born March
23, 1933 in Wenatchee, Washington to Ronald and Altha (Holland) Hughes. She
grew up in central Washington and graduated from Omak High School in 1951. She
married Kenneth Lafavour on December 21, 1951. They moved to Juneau in 1953.
Reva worked for the State of
Alaska for many years (Department of Education, Office of the Governor and
Department of Fish & Game) before becoming the office manager for Family
Practice Physicians and Kent Dawson Company until she retired and moved to
Bellevue.
In Juneau, Reva was a member of
Northern Light United Church, was active in the National Secretaries
Association and the American Cancer Society.
She relocated to Bellevue,
Washington in 1998 becoming a member of St. Peter’s Methodist Church, where she
performed volunteer work in the church office.
Reva was preceded in death by her
parents, first husband Kenneth N. Lafavour, daughter Elizabeth Ann, sisters Lynelle
Hughes and Aubrey Rotter, and brother Lecil Hughes. Survivors include her
husband, Roger Allington; sister, Vada Hughes; daughter, Roné Tromble (Michael
Zink); sons Kenneth W. Lafavour (Noriko) and Dana M. Lafavour (Cece);
grandchildren Roy (Nicole) and Evan (Jennifer) Tromble, Tanya Tromble-Giraud
(Sylvain), and Nate and Max Lafavour; and great-grandchildren Rachel, Lydia,
Colin, Andrew and Lucas Tromble, and Maëva Giraud.
A memorial service will be held
on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s United Methodist
Church, 17222 NE 8th
Street;
Bellevue, Washington 98008.
