Big Kid Bed

Maëva's new bed was delivered yesterday. The good thing about buying from a small local store owned by your father-in-law's first cousin is that not only do you get a good price on the furniture, but that price includes delivery and set-up. So we didn't have to spend all afternoon hassling with DYI instructions. Win-win-win. It's a twin size bed that I imagine Maëva will keep until she grows up and moves out of the house. For the time being, she looks very tiny in it:

Just under the mattress, there is a row of three drawers. Under that, there is a trundle bed for friends or cousins to sleep in when visiting. For the moment, space is a bit cramped in her room. But hopefully the addition will be finished by the end of the month and we'll be able to get things set up in a more pleasant way again. Maëva's first night in the new bed was a success. She slept curled up and sideways all the way at the top near the pillow, but no falling out.
