Birthday Breakfast

Laureva is two! Before breakfast, she opened a few presents from us, her Tatie Caroline, and a card from a friend. She is currently into elephants, so Maëva painted and decorated a little paper maché elephant for her. We got her a Doc McStuffins doll because she's been into carrying all the Doc stuffed animals around with her recently. Then we sang Happy Birthday and she blew out two candles on a blue cupcake. The expression on her face as we sang and the cupcake approached was priceless. A mixture of wide eyes, wonder, excitement and a sheepish smile! We all breakfasted on cupcakes of appropriate colors. Blue for Laureva, pink for Maëva, orange for me and green for Sylvain. That is what Laureva had requested for her birthday. During breakfast, we read a new Pinkalicious story: Pink Around the Rink. Then Sylvain's phone beeped with a video of Gabrielle singing to Laureva.

Now Maëva has gone to school and we will soon be off with Laureva for a birthday at the beach.
