The Face Paint Predicament

Laureva was with me this morning. We dropped Maëva off at school and then picked up some PTA things from the storeroom that we need for getting ready for the school fair tomorrow afternoon. One of the things was a box of face paint. Laureva wanted to carry it. As we were walking down the street, she dropped it just as she was walking over a grate. One of the yellow pots fell through. Luckily, two other women were passing at the same time. The three adults were able to lift up the extremely heavy grate cover and recover the face paint. Laureva claims I'm the one who dropped it. Luckily, as her mother, I'm immune to her charms and will not be had!
Next, we stopped by Frédérique's house to pick up a birthday gift to exchange for a party the girls are going to on Sunday. We found out the little boy already has the gift we bought yesterday. Laureva was pleased that Harricana (named after a river in Canada) the dog was home. She likes to feed her puppy treats. Apparently, she managed to sneak her two! We tested out some of the new face paint and stencils on Laureva. Fred put a sparkly blue star on her face and a blue fairy on her forearm.
All dolled up, we were off to Cultura to exchange the gift, pick out paint (the girls want to make beds out of shoeboxes for their Shimmer & Shine dolls ) and stop at the café for a snack. Laureva claimed she was very hungry. She ate a whole pain au chocolat all by herself, so apparently she really was very hungry.
After a final stop at the grocery store, we headed home to make lunch. Laureva put a first coat of pink paint on Shine's bed and is looking forward to working on it some more this afternoon.
