I had some work to do on the goat house and I knew I couldn't do it with the goats around. I'm sure they would have knocked my ladder down at the worst possible time, among other things. I arranged to have Pam come out and be a goatherd while the goats were loose. I came back from getting some tools to find that the goats were grazing on one of the Serviceberry (Juneberry) trees. Pam was taking this picture.
I also had a container of alfalfa pellets just to have on hand in case the goats needed distraction. I had almost reached the gate when I heard thundering hooves behind me. The goats apparently had detected that I had snacks and abandoned their tree to come after me.

They look so smart, checking out the barn! As Galen said this morning in yoga, maybe they think it would be a nice winter home.
They are so cute.
