Evan and Julie: Day 2

Saturday, June 1st. Girls up at 7:30 to prepare breakfast in bed for guests. Finally woke the sleepyheads up to eat their crêpes and purple pancakes at 10 am including cat head and letter J pancakes!

Laureva insisted on garnishing Evan's tray with almonds, insisting he was strong enough to crack them where Dad and Pam had not been. He was, but too much. Super Uncle made almond splithereens! Left shortly after noon, destination Le Castellet medieval village. Lunch at Le Roy d'Ys Crêperie. Kitty in the restaurant. Australian shepherd outside. Big hits! Good food, too. I had a ratatouille and egg crêpe followed by a chocolate coconut one. Yummy! The coconut ice cream turned out to be everyone's favorite. After lunch, we wandered around the cobblestone streets taking photos and looking at shops. We may have photo bombed a wedding on our way past the church. The bride was preparing to enter and a camera was clicking. At one point, Evan went to put the camera away and realized Green Dog was missing. Oh no! Operation rescue organized! We rushed back to the restaurant where the waitress had kindly tucked him away for us. Phew! Grocery stop on the way home. Back home to discover Canadian friends stood us up for apéritif. Oh well. Private party of Just Dance, drinks, snacks, hula hoop, cherry pit spitting  ... Fajita and chocolate cake dinner.

Sounds like a wonderful day. I worked 3 hours, had a massage, worked another hour and a half, had lunch, took a break for a storm, then worked 2 and a half more hours.
