Tuesday, June 4th. Evan helped Sylvain take the canvas cover off the pool. I walked the girls to school. Shortly after 9, Evan, Julie and I set off for Marseille. Sylvain stayed home to do lesson plans for next year. We were hoping to visit the Château d'If, but when we got to the boat ticket counter, we learned it was closed today for some unexplained reason. Oh, France. We decided to go to its sister Frioul islands anyway. At least we got to ride on a boat called the Edmond Dantes which passed close by the Château on its way to and from our destination. Arrived Frioul harbor 11:35. Gorgeous views of Marseille from these islands just 30 minutes off the coast. Walked around taking pictures and exclaiming for a couple hours. Dipped our feet in the sea.
Evan got lots of fancy shots with his new camera. Headed back to the harbor area for lunch at a pizzeria. We devoured every single crumb, having worked up quite an appetite with our sightseeing. After lunch, strolled along the digue to the other side of the harbor and back before catching the 3:50 ferry back to Marseille. Gelato on the way to the car. My two scoops of Oreo and Mint Chocolate Chip hit the spot! Stopped by Frédérique's from 5 to 6 so she could meet Evan and Julie. Back home for ankle carrots and ball play before dinner. At girls' bedtime, Julie and Evan told chapter 2 of the Fifi and Gigi story. Fifi is suspected of burglary and is going to have to set a trap with her friends to catch the real criminal ... We are on pins and needles! Adult dinner of more leftovers over another evening of pleasant conversation. Lovely.

Ankle carrots?
Camera -- is that a giant lens attached to Evan's phone?
The weather looks gorgeous!
Julie has been using frozen carrots to ice her ankle.
Yep ... I just scotch taped them together. Works like a charm.
It is a wee bit hot, for some reason.
