Basement furniture

Evan asked why we couldn't eat while watching the movie. It's because we got a new sectional to replace the futon as the movie seating. The futon has moved back into the guest room, which very briefly became the craft room, but is now primarily serving as my home office. Many or perhaps all of you will not remember the futon leaving the guest room, but once we mostly finished the basement, the TV cabinet and futon moved out there. Nicole painted the floor the week of Thanksgiving, and posted about it being ready to move into at the time.

On Tuesday, March 3, right before I started working from home, Nicole found a sectional at Ballard Consignment, after a lot of internet research. We made three trips to get it, the first to have the whole family look at it, and the other two for Nicole and me to transport it after leaving the kids at home. The longer section almost fit in the Pathfinder, but not quite, so we had to drive home with the tailgate open. Here's a photo from that night:

We're still figuring out the auxiliary furniture, but for the moment, the Marvel movie marathon uses this setup, with a couple items from the kids' bedroom upstairs:

It works for watching Wild Kratts, too. There's plenty of room for everyone, but as you can imagine, still plenty of contention for foot space and favored places. Makes you wonder how we ever survived having just the futon.
