Panda Report

Maëva's teacher announced that her students could do extra credit oral reports, but gave no formal guidelines. Maëva immediately jumped at the idea. After some reflection, she decided to work on pandas: giant and red. She collected information from three sources, a nature game card, the dictionary and the Internet, and prepared her notes. Saturday morning, she typed her text on the computer. Sunday morning, I found her a big piece of cardboard and printed out some photos and maps, and she made a poster with encouragement from Laureva. Monday, she set off to school with her supplies. Yesterday, she gave her presentation. She was the first. It reportedly went well. Her teacher asked to keep her poster for display. Her classmates were also interested and asked questions. To one little boy who asked how male pandas could recognize females, she asked back how he managed to recognize girls.
