Lascours Lockdown, Day 2

Saint Patrick's Day.

Had to cancel the cleaning lady until further notice. Will I find the time and the will to do house cleaning? Or will things just get progressively dirtier for six+ weeks?
President Macron addressed the nation again last night. We are not officially confined, however, for the next two weeks (for now) we are not allowed to go out unless it is for essential groceries, healthcare or exercising alone. When we go out, we must have printed out and signed in advance a form stating our legal intentions. Family and friend gatherings are banned. We are to limit our daily contacts to five people maximum.
We are fortunate because we have a house and property with space. If we stay away from the news and don't think about what we're not allowed to do, it basically just feels like we're on holiday/weekend and have decided to hang out at home. The cupboards are full. We might not be able to eat exactly what we want, but we do have food. And thankfully, I now know how to make great bread. The shelves are stocked with activities/books to keep the girls occupied. We are also fortunate because we are civil servants and will continue to be paid our full salaries. Our only obligation is to try to do our jobs as best we can under the circumstances via internet.
Sylvain went out at 1am to get groceries at the Pin Vert Casino. Different shopper + different store + special circumstances = different array of items => kitchen creativity requirement!!! Although he was able to find butter, yogurt, various cheeses, apples, arborio rice and vanilla ice cream (among other things), he was unable to find Kleenex, ricotta, lasagna noodles, frozen green beans, petites suisses and bread crumbs (though I am unable to evaluate whether that is due to shortages or to shopper inexperience).
This morning, I did the exercise bike and watched two episodes of Just Add Magic with the girls. The plan is to work this morning and early afternoon and then help the girls with painting (of Sylvain's birthday presents) and possibly some cooking later afternoon/evening.

One of my crowns is coming lose. However, the dentist's office appears to be closed until April 6th. Guess I'll have to remember to chew on the other side and hope for the best.

An adventure that must be chronicled!

Yes, I have been appreciating the detailed posts. Will try to do my part. A little self-conscious about discussing crawling into bed with mystery book when others have so many little ones to keep them hopping.

Hootsie does make sure we rise at sun-up. This is a blessing, as without him we would roll right out of our regular sleep schedule into total chaos. Hootsie Tromble, a leader in emotional stability.

I don't mind hearing about mystery novels.

Gardening seems a perfect activity for this situation. I'm creating a pretty large wildflower garden in the front yard along the street. I observed last summer than this part of the yard gets, somewhat surprisingly, as much or more sun than any other part of the yard.
