Breakfast at hotel. Maëva amused herself by making a lady statue out of a plastic cup and two Styrofoam bowls. Then she decided it could also be a hat for Grandpa. One by one, we all tried on the hat. Dad has the photos on his phone. Family pressure needed to get him to share them! Not rushed for time, but plans to visit a local playground before getting on the road foiled by a thunderstorm. Headed back out west on I44. Weather got nicer so we stopped at a park in Miami. Just after we located the playground equipment, parked and got out of the car, the skies opened up. The shower only lasted about five minutes, but it got all the playground equipment wet, so no sliding could be done. Dad wiped off the swings and the girls did that for awhile. After ten minutes or so, it started sprinkling again so we hopped back in the car and got back on the road. Another clever billboard in Tulsa read "Water you drinking? Say it ain't soda." Lunch at the route 66 Rock Cafe in Stroud which apparently has some connection to the Cars animated movie. Fun fact: the kitchen still uses the original grill from 1939! Arrival at Tatanka Ranch at 1:45, just in time for Sylvain to settle down in the lodge for the France vs Germany soccer game. Welcomed by Sandy and Mindy to the beautiful site! After checking out the lodge kitchen facilities and dropping off luggage in our cabins, it was time for a 3 pm grocery run to Walmart in Chandler. Sylvain and Maëva stayed at the ranch to watch the game. We got back around 4:30 to learn that France had won and advanced to the final. After putting groceries away, there was just enough time for a dip in the pool before 6:30 dinner. Maëva came up with a new game that involved Grandpa whizzing her back and forth in the water several times before throwing her up in the air. We started in on dinner of spaghetti, salad and cookies at the ranch cafe and were joined in the middle by Meredith, Anwyl and Kristen. The girls got super excited to see their great aunts and uncle. Much laughter and silliness over supper. The reunion weekend craziness has begun! Roy, Nicole, Colin and Eric rolled in shortly after 10 pm. I was happy to make Eric's acquaintance.

That's Miam-a (pronunciation), in case you were wondering.
So nice to have this concise but complete diary of the reunion to remember all that happened...the good and the not-so-good (although I am glad you will have a better supply of chocolate chips!)
