Home at Last!

Pam and I pulled into the driveway at home a little after 2pm today.  We had spent the night just east of Columbus, OH.  After the reunion we drove up to Illinois and spent 3 days with Pam's mother, celebrating her 90th birthday on Wednesday.  Pam's daughter Rebecca and her husband Noah drove out from Ft Collins.  We discovered that Silver Spring and Ft Collins are almost exactly the same distance from Rock Island, IL.  On the drive back we stopped at a 19th century cemetery in Illinois to see the grave of Pam's 3X great grandfather, Solomon Mason, who lived from 1800-1891.

We had good weather for the drive, and only a couple of bad traffic spots.  The cats were a little suspicious, but I think they remember us.   The peppers we planted right before leaving (Maeva and Laureva helped) are thriving, so it looks like my automated watering device worked fine.

Tonight will be an early turn-in, as I've got two yoga classes in the morning.

It was great to have all the family together in one place!
