Laureva's Theater Début

With the godmother she has, it was inevitable that Laureva would end up on stage one of these days (Sophie is a drama teacher). Sophie needed a child to participate for a few minutes in Saturday's production of Lysistrata and call "Mama, Mama, Mama." She asked Maëva who refused. However, Laureva was eager to participate. (Perhaps because she wanted to be up on stage for a show like she'd seen her sister do recently.) But as she's so young, Sophie asked an older girl to do it as well. We left the baptism celebration we were attending at 8pm so Laureva could get her costume on and makeup done up in the village. She was very excited to get all dolled up as a little Greek girl. Sophie positioned us in back of the audience to wait for Laureva's theater dad to come by and take her up to the stage for her cameo. Once the older girl, Emma, showed up, Laureva really started to get into things. She did a great job. However, when she came off stage, she burst into tears because Emma had said the line and not her: "I wanted to say it!" Sophie made up for it, though, by having Laureva go up on stage again at the end. This time, she was the only child as Emma had left right away. I think Laureva enjoyed herself. She seemed particularly happy about her costume and she has kept talking about Julien holding her in his arms up on stage. Several photos on my FB page.
