USA Tour: Day 11

Sunday, August 4. In spite of late night, both Sylvain and I were awake at 6:15. Laureva got up to use the bathroom about 6:45, but didn't want any help, then went back to bed in Sam's room. She's in big girl mode, apparently!

We borrowed a 7-seater vehicle from friends of Serra and Mike who live a couple blocks away. Quick driving tour of downtown KC. Plaza district. Skyline. WWI Memorial. Union Station. ... Lunch at Los Tules Mexican restaurant. My shrimp fajitas were delicious! Girls posed for photos with the decorative sombreros from the wall. One was bright pink and silver!
After lunch, we stopped at the new (since I've been to KC) Boulevard Beer Hall for some beer tasting. Doug and Jenny met us there. I tasted two stouts and a sour pink Hibiscus Gose. The girls played board games (one was Candy Land), took selfies and played with filters, and had fun in the photo booth. Outside, we spotted one of Mike's Pride KC bikes (he works for KC public transportation).
Back home around 3pm. Afternoon/evening relaxing around the pool.
Mike made the girls dinner breakfast of eggs, bacon and pancakes. They thought that was a fun change. Cheese  and baguettes for the adults. Girls watched several movies with Sam including The Princess and the Frog and The Descendants. Sylvain went out to a gay bar with Doug and sang Rolling Stones karaoke. He reportedly quite enjoyed himself.

Are Doug and Jenny the friends whose vehicle you borrowed? Or someone else I should know but don't remember?

Doug is a friend of theirs I've known since they met in KC fifteen years ago. Jenny was a friend of his who was new to me. The car was borrowed from a family of four with a Taiwanese mother named Tracy. They were also new to me.
