USA Tour: Day 15

Thursday, August 8. Mini chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Walk to the playground in a neighborhood across Porter with girls, Mom and Lady. Got Lady to go down the slide twice. Sylvain went for his first OK run. He showed Mom his route then she took him out in the car to show him another possibility. Started new painting projects: hippo for me, daytime owls for Mom and girls. After lunch, Mom went to work for the afternoon and her Planning Commission meeting. We headed down to Rivermont to visit with Grandpa Gene. He was awake and alert with us for over an hour. He particularly enjoyed the story about Lady going down the slide. Afternoon visit at Alicia's house from 3 to 5. Girls played with Isabela and Andrés. 5:20 home to feed dogs and give Britt his medicine. Sylvain stayed home. Girls and I went to meet Mom at City Hall to talk to Tom Knotts (formerly of Rosebud Ridge vineyard) before the meeting started.

Girls tried out council seats. Maëva even wielded the gavel! Fifteen minutes at the splash pad before heading home. Kris joined us for omelettes dinner and leftover Gigi's cupcakes. We just did halves this time, so there are still enough portions left for tomorrow. Maëva loved her plain egg omelette and gobbled it up in record time. Girls were a little chilly from splash pad so they warmed up in the bath between main course and dessert with a magical unicorn bath bomb. Mom started reading the girls the first Little House on the Prairie book. Before the end of the first chapter, Laureva fell asleep and Maëva asked her to stop reading because she was tired!

I'd have asked her to stop, as well.

What's Tom doing now? Or, what is he Knotts doing?

Tom sold the vineyard, moved to town. So he is now re-retired. He volunteers 1 day a week at the OU museum.
