Wednesday, August 14. Back to school for Andrew and Lucas. Up before 7 for boys to get ready. Cinnamon rolls for breakfast. 7:45, Evan drove boys to school. Morning activities for the rest of us in between a few work tasks for the Utans: Mario Kart, Just Dance, The Descendants, dog walking, running for Sylvain and Evan, Color Street Mind-Over-Splatter nails for me. Sylvain noticed talking while running was harder at high altitude.
Evan picked up boys from school at 1pm, then they came by to get us. Late lunch at The Habit. Tuna burger, sweet potato fries and the rest of Maëva's vanilla soft serve for me. Tasty. I'd go back.
Antelope Island. One lone bison sighted, grazing near the shore. Short walk out on Ladyfinger Point. Very pretty landscapes. Visitors Center. We learned that the antelope on the island are actually pronghorns and watched the digital display of the lake's evolution over time. The kids seemed interested in the food chain exhibit. Lucas and Maëva were field trip buddies. Even holding hands. Very cute. I treated myself to some Great Salt Lake bath salts. Last stop, Buffalo Point lookout. Pretty mini sunflowers scattered all over the island.
5pm home for Happy Hour! Blended margaritas with jalapeno lime mix and lime salt from Williams Sonoma. Cheese and pickles. Kids ran dogs in the backyard. Evan's famous tacos for dinner. Choice of beef or spicy shrimp. Delicious with a kick. Julie played games with the kids. Sylvain, Evan and I went on a dog walk. More Mario Kart, hoop shoot and Jenga.
Bedtime story: Rufus Dufus had a lot of gas! Suzanne the catburglar is still in jail, but her twin sister Lizonne has started tormenting Fifi!! Duh duh duh ...

We have The Habit here, too. Only been there once, though.
My food targets for Seattle are Alaskan Amber and halibut.
