Lascours Lockdown, Day 699

Saturday, February 12th. Winter Break Day 8.

The girls spent much of the morning working on their craft gifts. Maëva finished painting her dog and decorated her cactus. She also decorated her box with Maxime written out in multi-colored sequins. Laureva finished painting her cat, finished covering her box with leopard print paper and Mod Podge, and then started decorating it with rubber roses and sequins, as well. I helped, made pizza and did the exercise bike.

This afternoon, there was reading, catching up on some paperwork, and an outing for a few errands. When I got back, I helped the girls sew little square pillows to line the bottoms of their gift boxes. They are each stuffed with a layer of batting and held together in the middle with a button. Maeva would like to add tassels to the corners of hers. We'll see whether or not we can figure out how to make them tomorrow. We also have plans to photograph the results tomorrow.

We continued the new Saturday evening movie and popcorn tradition with Back to the Future II. Then continued reading from The Autobiography of Santa Claus and The Valley of Fear. We still don't know what Douglas (who we think is a later incarnation of McMurdo) did to incur the wrath of Tom Baldwin and the Scowrers. We think Watson's getting there, but it's taking a while.
