After another heroic early rising by Evan, to enable us to make the nonstop to San Francisco (which appears to be scheduled for the business traveler who is miraculously biologically optimized to arise at 3:30 am and then make deals all day), Anwyl and I dozed our way to the coast. We did amass two travel tips: camping lights may trigger security attention and, if, on arrival you are inspired to help your spouse with her bags to the gate and then turn back to collect your own gate-checked bag -- don't. Anwyl did the gentlemanly thing and as a consequence we had to wait at the gate until the grumpy airline counter person could find a colleague to go back to the airplane to collect his bag. You would think, with all the "don't" signs posted everywhere, they might have included this instruction in the signage. But now we know. The kitties greeted us at the door, in formation to charge into the patio (the petsitter requires that they remain inside for the duration of her care). "Hey, dudes, nice to see you again, too!" we waved to their backsides. But they have been hanging around and checking back in for pets in satisfying fashion so we think they probably missed us a little bit. It was a most wonderful Trombleganza....Big, huge, vast, enormous thanks to Evan and Jenn for hosting!
