Yule Log: Dec 25

M awake 4am. Not very successfully tried to get her to rest some more. Got up with her at 4:45 so S could sleep. Upstairs. She discovered the stockings and played with candy filled plastic candy canes left by Santa. E joined at 5:30 to work out. 7am breakfast of cinnamon rolls, raspberry breakfast braid, fruit salad, scrambled eggs, sausage followed by present opening. The kids started with their stockings. M excited about Hello Kitty bracelet and necklace. Put them on. When she opened a bunch of Minnie apparel, she added mittens, knit hat, t-shirt and ballerina flats over her footed pjs and pranced around admiring how pretty she was. She kept the mittens on for quite awhile, even through the opening of some other gifts, but finally had to take them off to play with Doc Mc Stuffins dress-up dolls. To make a long story short, present opening lasted three hours and we were all spoiled. M got unwrapping overload and saved some gifts, including her two pink ones from Santa, for later. Lunch of salmon and various sides, pecan pie. Naps for little ones. Not very successful webcamming with France (their sound didn't work). Afternoon visit to Grandpa Gene. Dropped M at Mom's. Airport pickup of Meredith and Anwyl at 4:30. Home for a relaxing evening of strictly adult chatting, cooking, eating. Nice late dinner of steak, portobello mushrooms, asparagus, butternut squash, salad and cheesecake. Forced myself to stay up as late as possible. Finally retired around ten-thirty, I think.
