Party Weekend

Friday evening, we were invited to dinner at Naïma and Tonio's house with Marie-Elisabeth and David and Chris and Marie-Jo Lancry who were visiting from Paris. Tonio made a southern Italian speciality: panzerotti. They're a kind of fried bread filled with tomatoes, mozarella and olive oil. After dinner, the guitars and mandolin came out and we had a blues sing-a-long accompanied by Chris, Ugo (Naïma and Tonio's son) and Lucille (Chris and Marie-Jo's daughter).
Saturday afternoon, we went to a wedding reception for Annick and Christian's (the managers of the Cercle) son Mathieu. The girls got dressed up in their new matching leopard print dresses they got for their birthdays. It was hot. Well in to the upper 90s, I think. Laureva ate lots of fruit. Maëva drank lots of grenadine. And they both ran around with other kids.
Saturday evening, we were invited to dinner at Sandrine and Greg's house. By this point, Maëva was getting a bit tuckered out. She went for a swim when we arrived, but then played quietly in Jade's room while the other kids all ran around outside. She was happy to lay down once movie time was declared. She doesn't usually use a pacifier, but has gotten into the habit of wanting one when she's relaxing with other kids who have them. She found one somewhere, don't know whose it is:
Maëva was the only one who actually fell asleep. When I left to go home at 1:30, she was still the only kid sleeping!
Sunday afternoon, we went to Clement's in Roquevaire for a family aïoli. It was our last chance to see Franck. He's leaving today for Montreal. The girls swam in the pool with their big cousins and splashed a lot of water on Sylvain who was playing lifeguard. They were both happy to see that Estelle was back from her week in Spain. Laureva enjoyed watching a game of boules, but it was sometimes hard to keep her from trying to get in the middle.
