Monday, July 7

Barcelona

Started the day with some university visits (other siblings stayed back at the apartment). First we went to the EU Business School and Geneva Business School (both gave me little welcome totes and a tour of the building). EU seems cool, but the Geneva one is very small--only 200 people between all programs. The cool thing is that they have campuses in other cities, so I could easily go other places for a few semesters. We also walked through the University of Barcelona which has a bunch of really pretty courtyards and also a botanical garden. Dad and I split up from the others and stopped at a Casa del Libro so I could get two more books in Spanish. One is another book the bookseller in Madrid recommended, about a girl who dies and it apparently goes back in time to before her death? And the other one is one that was on the store's recommendation table and had a very pretty cover, about Formula 1. I tried to see if I could just get an English version back in the states but it looks like it's only in Spanish for now, so I got it there. We met everyone else at a restaurant for lunch (highlight was the seafood pasta I had as a starter). After we lunch we headed to Park Güell! It was a long bus ride but so worth it. The architecture and everything was so impressive and beautiful, and the views of Barcelona were really cool too. It was packed, but still managed to get some good pictures. We took the bus home, I took a nap, and then we had takeout empanada/calzone dinner.
