Day 16:
Wednesday, July 9
Barcelona
First stop of the day was the business school next door to the apartment and a coffee run with Dad because I was TIRED. Then everyone went to the botanical gardens at the Uni of Barca, before brunch at Trópico (also on my list). It was a super cute place and the food was delicious! I had a hibiscus drink that I'm forgetting the name of, a passion fruit cronut, and pabellón arepas, which had cheese, beans, beef, and fried plantain. It was super messy but so good and everyone else loved their meals too. We walked for a while to El Born, a historical ruins type site. After that was the Picasso Museum. It was smaller than I expected, and the first few rooms weren't super exciting for me. My favorite paintings were Las Meninas, the ones with all the pigeons (which my dad says he didn't understand, meanwhile HIS favorite was a really boring all blue one), the Salchichona woman, and the one where the guy is painting and has some color on him, while the easel and paint supplies are done in black and white. We walked to get soft-serve at Rocambolesc which was tasty, then walked back towards the apartment. My siblings split up with us to go back while we stopped at nougat and chocolate stores (and got tasty samples). Dad and I also got Spanish horchata (made with tiger nuts instead of rice) and a very sour lemonade, and both were yummy! On the way home Mom and I stopped at a nail salon to get our nails done, because swimming in the ocean caused them to start peeling. The lady didn't talk much but was pretty efficient and the colors turned out really pretty! It was wayyy cheaper than in the US, too. We had our last dinner in Spain at a Catalán restaurant around the block from our flat, and we got a private room since our group was so big. We joked that they just wanted the loud Americans away from the rest of their customers so we didn't scare them away. The food was super tasty and my dessert was amazing! Pancakes with banana and ice cream and some sort of caramel/biscoff topping. We played more Brainwave and laughed a lot (good thing we had a private room lmao). Back home to back, goodbye Barcelona :(

What is Brainwave?
Basically there's a number that everyone except one person knows, and the person who doesn't know the number needs to guess by asking questions. It's a rating 1 to 10, so they'll ask for example "Colin, name an ice cream flavor" and if the number is 6 Colin will say an ice cream flavor he rates a 6/10, and based off of that answer and the other answers to questions asked to other people the person has to figure out what the number is
