Knitting generations together

Avis' daughter Stephanie taught Rachel some knitting at the family reunion, and gave her needles and yarn to continue her tutelage.

I thought this was especially neat because it was Great Grandma (Millie) Tromble who taught knitting to Stephanie. Thus Rachel is learning from her own ancestor, albeit indirectly.

For whatever reason, I have a strong emotional reaction when thinking about this. I enjoy the family reunions for many reasons, but increasing the bandwidth between generations is one I don't remember contemplating before. Each cousin carries different memories from their grandparents, so it's good to put them all together.

Wonderful insight. Inspiration to do a little research for the next reunion!
