Maëva turned 7 today! In French, they call 7 l'âge de la raison. Here she is showing her age on her fingers the French way and sporting her new hair stick, flower headband and flamingo watch from Marie-Elisabeth and her new Harry Potter necklace from us:
After presents this morning, Maëva did a bit of jewelry making from her new arbre à bijoux kit. Then we straightened up in their room a little before getting ready to head to lunch at Memphis Coffee with Marie-Elisabeth, Gabrielle, Jeannette and Timéo. Maëva was really looking forward to having the waiters sing for her. Come dessert time, she was not disappointed.
Following lunch, the grandmas headed to Jeannette's house with the kids for swimming. Sylvain and I decided to stop off at another furniture store to look at couches (we had already spent all of Wednesday afternoon looking at couches, to no avail). Turns out this one, Tousalon, was the lucky one. We ordered a dark brown leather couch to be delivered in September.
Back home, I frosted another flamingo cake and dropped it off at Jeannette's house for the kids' snack. I didn't go in, but just passed it over the gate to Marie-Elisabeth. Sounded like the birthday fun was still in full swing!
