Kris's visit (June 21st to 28th) overlapped with a visit from Serra, Mike and Sam Goodman (June 25th to July 4th). Tuesday the 26th was Maëva's end-of-the-year show at school followed by the PTA carnival. The big boys didn't join in the festivities, however, because Christian managed to get three tickets to that evenings Rolling Stones concert at the Stade Vélodrome:
Laureva, Marie-Elisabeth and I went to Maëva's school show. The whole school sang various songs for about thirty minutes, then each class did a gymnastics demonstration or a dance. Maëva's 1st grade class showed off their accro-sport moves. Afterwards, it was down to the Stade Christophe Pignol for an evening barbecue and Ballon d'Or de Lascours games for the elementary school kids. Kristen, Maryelle, Serra and Samantha joined in for barbecued sausage sandwiches. Maëva claims to not have enjoyed playing the various ball games, though she was lucky enough to end up on the pink team and she seemed to be having fun enough to me when observed briefly from a distance . . . oh, well. We try to come up with fun activities for the kids, but you can't please them all! And she was happy to get a soccer ball yoyo prize at the end.
