Lascours Lockdown, Day 81

Wednesday, June 3rd. Reopening Day 24. Hot sunny day with a breeze.
I skipped my spinning this morning as I had to leave at 8:30 to take Maëva to an orthodontist appointment. At her previous checkup in February, Dr. Hatem had been worried that one of Maëva's teeth wasn't coming in. However, it has since come through and this morning he said everything was fine. Her next check up will be in January once all her adult teeth have come in. I wasn't allowed inside the office. I stayed outside and filled out a form about our Covid-19 symptom and contact status while Maëva went in with the orthodontist. A sign on the door said only one person was allowed in at a time. Two other families also seemed to be waiting outside. The checkup went very quickly and Dr. Hatem declined to take payment this time.

Maëva remarked that she hadn't been in the car in a long time. Not since I took her to the doctor in week 1 of confinement, more than 2 months ago!
On our way home, we tried to stop at the vet for Tiger's medicine. It was closed. We learned that it's currently closed Wednesday mornings. Plus, a sign outside informed us that confinement protocols are still in place for them as required by the Ministry of Agriculture. I left a message requesting Tiger's meds and am waiting for a call telling me when I can go pick them up. We also made a quick stop for Maëva to drop off her thank you note for the flamingo mosaic in her friend Manon's mailbox.
Back home, we quickly got online to order Maëva's birthday gift for Laureva before Laureva came back from Marie-Elisabeth's house. It should arrive in time. Then, Maëva and I went over her school work from yesterday. With that taken care of, there was about an hour left before lunch for work (me) and play (Maëva joined Laureva next door).
This afternoon, I got quite a bit of work done. The girls read, cleaned their room, went swimming and had their Skype piano lesson. I heard Laureva's teacher reprimanding her for not practicing enough. Uh oh. I placed an online order with the frozen food store to be delivered Saturday morning. Laureva had requested nuggets for her birthday. Others wanted ice cream not available at our grocery store and I wanted more easy meal possibilities. Laureva hugged me when she found out what I was doing!
Maëva's friend Marie came over with her mom at 6p.m.. I drank rosé on the patio with Edwige while the girls played. Sylvain joined after his exercises. They hadn't meant to stay too long, but didn't leave until 8. Maëva was delighted to see her friend. Edwige was ill two months ago with a suspected case of Covid-19. She said she felt quite sick and stayed quarantined in her room for two weeks. However, a recent blood test for Covid-19 antibodies was negative.
