Tuesday, June 16th. Reopening Day 37. Breezy day.
Morning: work and school work with the girls in the veranda while Arlette, the cleaning lady, worked in the house. When Marie-Elisabeth got home around 9:30, the girls shifted over there. I made a mid-morning stop by Laureva's school to pick up drawings and PTA fundraiser orders that had been left in the school's mailbox, then spent the better part of my day on that project. It's quite a bit more complicated this year as most of the kids have to draw at home and then submit their drawings somehow and parents have to get me their orders a different way. Usually, the teachers collect them.
The headmistress at Laureva's school is not optimistic about all kids being able to go back next week. The current protocol is for one square meter of space per student which is not possible at full capacity. So far, they have not received any information about a change in protocol. So things are still up in the air in spite of what President Macron said Sunday evening. Laureva would like to go back. However, we're not first priority as we can keep her home easily. We'll see what happens . . . The City sent out a late afternoon email saying that the cafeteria would indeed be open for lunch if kids do go back . . .
Afternoon: PTA stuff, yoga, reading, pool, HP movies and a tiny bit of work.

Most likely, they will both go back or both stay home. However, they go to separate schools run by separate principals with different logistical possibilities so it's possible that one could go back and one stay home, or that they could go back part time, but on different days . . . It's still unclear. I don't think they would mind being split up as they've been together nearly non-stop for three months. However, the one that had to stay home might be a bit jealous. Such is life.
