Sunday morning I woke up around 3:30 to loud gusts of wind. I looked out on the ping pong tables, which were unmoved and still well covered at the time. However, when we checked on them again after daylight, the cover was completely off.
I moved the tables into the garage so they would dry off. There's room now, though they would get in the way if we left them in there all the time. I also walked around the house to check for loose shingles, but didn't find any evidence of damage.
We spent the rest of the day indoors. Nicole had proposed walking to the library if the rain let up, but ended up driving in the afternoon. We picked up pizza for dinner from Via Tribunali. It was still raining.
I spent the day on a variety of activities, including reading, multiple Switch games, juggling, bumper pool with Eric, and bread baking. Nicole submitted an application to join the emergency substitute teacher pool. We got back on track with our test regimen after the long weekend. It's just one week of school and work before the Thanksgiving break, for everyone except Rachel.
Besides the many splendid hangout words, including panvaccinated, goodfellowship, and gobsmacking, I also leaned two words from the crossword puzzle today: tref and ylem. What a day!
