Saturday was Lydia's band trip to Portland. She had to be at the school at 6:30 to catch the bus, so we got up at 5:30. That was after I was up until at least midnight. I know because I had to help Lydia retrieve a playing card from under her bed at that hour. I meant to go back to sleep, and I eventually did, but first I filled the car up with gas. It was my first time doing that. I think Nicole filled it once before. Then when I got home, Eric was up and working on the Lego Aston Martin that he got as an activity at the birthday party on Friday. He wanted me to help him find pieces. But I eventually escaped.
Nicole and Rachel were volunteering at the Global Visionaries gala starting around noon, so the boys and I stayed home. We played some ping pong, then some Minecraft. It rained unexpectedly, and got the ping pong tables wet. Nicole came home for dinner, but went back to the gala for cleanup.
Meanwhile, Lydia's band placed second in their category and then went to Oaks amusement park for a few hours before riding the bus back home. She texted me from around Olympia, saying they were about an hour away. I relayed the message to Nicole and Rachel, but in the end Lydia beat them back to the school. Traffic was partly to blame.
