Saturday, December 19th.
This morning, I baked two loaves of sweet potato bread. Maëva started her online reading rally. When the girls were done with their piano lesson, the four of us went to Saint Savournin to take Izia her birthday present. We opted out of the family afternoon party for fear of mingling with too many people before our holiday meal with Marie-Elisabeth's family as both Alain and Gabrielle have had operations recently. Instead, we went early and stayed for about an hour and a half until 12:30. Others weren't coming until 2pm. We kept masks on, only removing them briefly for eating or drinking, and then only at a safe distance. Izia can crawl and scoot around quite rapidly now. She can stand and even take a few wobbly steps. Very fun. She was very excited about the balloons her mom had blown up and kept pointing and shrieking at them. She smiled at her presents: Où est mon dinosaur? with a matching dinosaur stuffy and Où est mon pinguoin? She was both interested in but a bit scared of the dinosaur stuffy.
On the way home, we got McDonald's drive through.
In the afternoon, we baked gingerbread house pieces. I mixed up bread dough and made pizza. Maëva read a bit with Rachel, but the connection was bad so they stopped early. Laureva and I played Seven Families.
No singing this evening as the girls spent the night next door.
