Friday, September 17th.
This morning, during my walk with Fred and Harikana, Garlaban looked quite pretty framed by clouds above and mist below.
Afterwards, I spent the rest of the morning running errands and signing the girls up for their drama classes with Sophie. After a quick lunch, I did yoga and class prep until it was time to pick the girls up at school.
They each came home with a lot of things for me to sign, including tests, home computer equipment surveys in the event of a class closure, Covid testing permission forms, and a field trip permission slip for Laureva. Her class is scheduled to go visit the Jeff Koons exhibit at the Mucem next Friday. Laureva was disappointed that I won't be able to chaperone because of some appointments I can't reschedule. Both girls were off the charts on the number of words they can read in a minute. The rest of their testing results were good as well.
The girls went swimming with Sylvain while I read some of Thomas De Quincey's "The Avenger." Soon, it was time to get dinner started.
I forgot to report on Wednesday that mandatory vaccination for health care workers had gone into effect. Earlier in the week, the news had been reporting that about 10% of workers in the sector had yet to show proof of vaccination. Class closures in France had reportedly risen to 3,300 yesterday. I guess that's about a ten percent increase over the past week. The closed class in Lascours reopened today.

True. However, some third graders in Laureva's class still can't spell their numbers from one to ten ...
