Lascours Lockdown, Day 558

Thursday, September 23rd.

I woke up feeling slightly better. Perhaps my ills were simply due to a combination of general fatigue, voice strain and a missed dose or two of allergy meds.
For lunch, I walked in to Aix and got a spinach, mushroom and emmental crepe from Crepes A Go Go. I noticed the management seems to have changed. The crepe tasted just fine, but it was wrapped up a little differently than I remember and it stuck to the wrapping, making it very difficult to eat. Half of the stuffing ended up falling out and I couldn't find the plastic spoon I usually keep in my purse. I don't think I'll be going back there anytime soon.
Before heading back to the university, I stopped at Cecile Jeanne, a jewelry store. The lady kindly repaired my bracelet for me. The charm had come off Tuesday evening when I was attempting to open boxes in the copy room with my arms already full.
Maeva lost her bottom right eye tooth today at lunch time. It had been loose for awhile and the adult one had already started coming in behind. She said it hadn't hurt.
The government has announced that mask mandates will be lifted in elementary schools starting October 4th in departments with incidence rates below 50 for a minimum of five consecutive days. The national average is in the 60s currently, so there are quite a few departments who already meet this requirement. The BDR is still far away, though, with a rate still above 200. However, I don't think I'll feel comfortable with the girls going unmasked at school again until they can get vaccinated.

Sorry to hear about Crepes a Go Go. That's a mainstay of Aix visits.

At first I read it as Maëva lost her eye, and freaked out for a second, then reread. Not an eye, an eye tooth. Haha!

Maybe the'll get it figured out, and it will be safe to go go back to Crepes a Go Go again.

Fair enough. We can go back to try again when one of you comes to visit.
