Twenty days out from our planned move date. It is raining hard - we had 1.7" overnight - it's projected to end about 10am.
Yesterday, Jan, a person connected with the realtor who is experienced with selling and donating things, came over and we sent her off after an hour with a long list of furniture and other things to work on.
I have my own list of smaller things I'm finding homes for.
Today is a big day as people from a company called Kaiyo are coming over to take away the primary bedroom and dining room furniture. They'll sell it and we'll get some money eventually. Kaiyo is basically a high tech consignment business. This is furniture we bought when we moved here. It's very high quality and in excellent shape - but we don't have room for it in the new house, so it must go. Most of it anyway. They wouldn't take the corner china cabinet or a granite topped chest from the bedroom because they avoid things with stone and glass so they don't have to worry about breakage. We might end up taking those pieces with us.
Last night I packed a box of family photos and documents - they can be a project for future family get-togethers.
Time to update my list and get to work!
