After Ida passed through here, the temperatures dropped out of the 90s into the 70s, so now it feels good to work outside. I spent most of the day yesterday working in the garden, on the back deck, mowing the yard, etc. I'm not finished yet, but the end is in sight. Today I'll empty out the compost bin and put it on the garden.
Also on the agenda today are a run and getting organized for the coming week. Tuesday will be busy. Early on Wednesday, I'm leaving to drive to Illinois for the Thursday funeral service for Pam's mom. Since Monday is a holiday, that means I have Tuesday to get as much done as I can to keep the move moving forward. We'll drive back next Saturday.
It just happens that Lil Boose has a vet appointment Tuesday morning, to get a check up and recommendations for how to make the move as easy for her as possible.
For the move itself, we're planning to make the trip cross country in 4 legs. Times are Google maps driving times, so actual travel time each day will be longer:
Silver Spring to Rock Island Illinois - 13 hours - Pam's family home
Rock Island to Ft Collins, Colorado - 12 hours - Rebecca and Noah
Ft Collins to Kaysville, Utah - 7 hours - Evan and Julie
Kaysville to White Salmon, Washington - 10 hours - destination!
I think that we'll be leaving here around October 7, about a week later than our original target, but more realistic given that we're losing a week of preparation due to the funeral.
