Advent Anticipation

The best part of Christmas is Advent. More specifically, the last few days before Christmas when everything is ready and you can just hang out and enjoy the warmth generated by the decorations, music, goodies and other traditions. The presents look so pretty wrapped nicely and stacked around the tree, it almost makes me not want to open them. It's not that I don't like Christmas itself, I do. But when the big day arrives, it means the fun is almost over. I just wish it would all last a little longer. Some people claim to get quickly tired of the music, the lights, the chocolates . . . and perhaps I would eventually, too. All I know is that a month of Christmas prep doesn't have that negative effect on me.

It's currently Christmas Eve Eve. The eggnog is chilling in the fridge for tomorrow night. The angel food cake is baking. Santa put together Maëva's gift last night. Only two more days to enjoy the magic . . . so make the best of it! Ho Ho Ho!!!
