Friday, August 24th. Mom's flight from Dublin arrived on time at 4:10 pm. Unfortunately, they took over an hour to get the luggage out! Ridiculous. The girls complained about the long wait. Rightfully so, for once. We finally left the airport about 5:45 and made it home about 6:30, just in time to greet Sylvain as he was heading out for his run. Mom and the girls went swimming. Then Mom distributed presents. Lots of fun stuff: chocolate chips, M&Ms, Poppers, Dancing Springs, workbooks, Harry Potter books, fruit snacks, unicorn cereal, funfetti frosting, mermaid light up hand sanitizer, a wine clutch, matching orange giraffe tops, hand sewn pouches with a flamingo brooch for Maëva and a unicorn necklace for Laureva ... Thanks Mom and Evan! Maëva also got her birthday gifts from Uncle Evan: Uno, Skip Bo and a flamingo Beanie Boo named Gilda. After dinner, Grandma read stories and sang Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star before bedtime. Shrimp scampi and pasta dinner for adults, then soon to bed for tired ladies!
