Yes, the movie The Meg is out. No, that's not the reason I read the book. Julie, apparently, likes books and movies about big sharks eating people. So, she recommended the book. I've been reading books on planes on my trips here, there, and everywhere. So, she bought me The Meg a while back.
So, as you may be aware, The Meg is about a huge prehistoric shark that escapes the Marianna Trench. Then, all sorts of havoc ensues. I'm not going to say it's great writing. But, it's fun. Scientific-ish. A bit gory.
The Trench is the 2nd book in the series. It's a bit more violent and graphic, but it fills in a lot of the gaps (which you don't necessarily know are gaps at the time) from the 1st book.
I have them in book form (non digital). They'll be in Utah.
