Washington Reopen, Day 5

Monday morning, the boys and I all got haircuts. I'm still off work due to the two-day July 4th holiday this week. I tried to get a photo of the three of us, and it turned into a goofy face fest.

I found the caulk and tried to patch the rain barrel that goes behind the garage. I sprayed the inside of the barrel to clean it up a bit, and also wiped down the spot where the caulk would go. I applied it both inside and out. I have no idea if this will work, but it seems worth a shot. There's still no rain in the ten-day forecast, so it won't get tested anytime soon.

The rest of the day was spent leisurely at home. Nicole ran an errand on the bike, but everyone else stayed home until our after-dinner walk. We came up through the cemetery and caught a glimpse of a coyote again. It was lying down against the hedge, but got up when it saw us looking at it, and seemed to hesitate deciding how to proceed, before slinking into the bushes.

We tried the first episode of a couple new series. We're not sure if either will take. Then we agreed to Lydia's proposal of Yes Day, a movie about a family whose parents agree to stop saying no for one day, with spectacular results. It was not quite as anxiety-inducing as that one about the road trip.

I didn't do a full Monday stat check, but I see that Washington State's case numbers are still decreasing. If there's to be a bump from reopening, it will take time to appear. The delta variant is a concern here, but it also hasn't reversed the trend yet.
