Thursday, February 18th.
I left at 7:45 to drive up to the teacher training university in Aix to proctor the first part of today's mock exam. The exam photocopies ordered by my colleague who had received delivery confirmation from the printing service were nowhere to be found. I had to beg an administrative assistant to print out another set for me. Luckily, I'd brought my computer with the file on it.
While the students worked from 9 to 11, I started preparing for a class session on A Streetcar Named Desire. On the way home, I made a stop by the pharmacy for a few things. Back home, I had time for lunch and an hour of class prep before yoga.
After school, Laureva and I met briefly with her teacher. Mme. Marini asked Laureva if she found the 2nd grade work to be difficult, to which Laureva responded, "Not really." Tomorrow, her teacher will announce to the class that Laureva will be joining the 2nd grade group when they come back from break. Then, we met Maëva at the hair salon across the street for the girls to get haircuts.Maëva was upset that I made her get quite a bit of length taken off and complained that she looks like she's seven again. I'm looking forward to her hair being healthier and easier to brush again.
Michel Bouvet passed away this morning. I remember the last time he was here at the house. It was fall 2019 and we had a meeting with Fred to prepare the joint Ski Club/PTA Christmas extravaganza. Michel did have serious underlying health conditions. However, Covid is what sent him into this sudden and final downward spiral.

Nice looking haircuts - though not as neat as mine!
