Monday's back to work and school was mostly successful. Lydia missed at least one class due to losing track of time. At work I got an appointment to pick up my office belongings, Thursday next week. The first Thursday in March is appropriately my anniversary of working from home.
I baked my bread in the morning and mixed pizza dough for dinner. Rachel made some crepe batter in the evening so she can have them for breakfast for the rest of the week. That will work if her siblings don't descend upon them.
Nicole took Eric outside to practice riding the bike, with more success this time.
I checked the statistics today. Despite the big news that the total U.S. death toll has crossed a half million, the trend is in the right direction. The weekly average has finally fallen below its April peak again. New cases are trending similarly. National and Washington State averages are still above April peaks, but King County is back below. Vaccinations have stopped accelerating, falling slightly below a half percent per day, maybe due to recent weather. I also read that one of the major virus manufacturing efforts is in Baltimore. We were wondering about that on the hangout yesterday.

I read that part of the drop off in cases in recent weeks was due to bad weather in the midwest shutting down test sites. Hope the trend is real, and not just a data collection issue.
A drop in testing make sense, although the downward trend in new cases has been steady since mid-January. Presumably the inclement weather will also have had some impact on spread, but we'll see. The dashboard I look at doesn't show tests, but I can compare Texas to California. Daily new cases in California continue to fall, though the slope is lessening. Texas had a steeper drop because of very low numbers last week, but has seen a slight increase since then. Still, the two-week trend is clearly in the right direction, for now.
Utah has been generally trending down.
Julie and I are signed up to get our first dose on Friday.
