The East Silver Spring Community Association had an outdoor event at the farm yesterday. That's the neighborhood where the farm is located, and the association president is a former coworker at NOAA and father of one of my Monday farm interns.
The event was also a convenient opportunity for one of the County Council members to stop by and be seen, and to present me with a proclamation by the Council recognizing me for my volunteer work at the farm, particularly with the composting system.
You never know which talents will be appreciated!
