Monday morning was rainy. I didn't bother with any watering. Some plants don't get much from the rain, but they can wait. I baked bread and prepared pizza dough, as usual for Monday. Incredibly, there are only two more school Mondays from here to the end, with Memorial Day next week.
We had another contractor visit in the early afternoon, perhaps the last. He's going to give us a quote for repairing the wall, rather than replacing it.
I made two pizzas and a Zwiebelkuchen for dinner, and somehow it all got eaten. That's very different from last week, when I was still eating leftovers come Friday.
Afterward, we watched the middle four episodes of our show. They're only 23 minutes apiece, so we'll be done with it tomorrow.
Friday we got an unexpected message from the music school that Lydia's piano teacher wouldn't be working there anymore. Today, Nicole arranged for her to have lessons on Tuesday afternoons with her old teacher, Caleb.
The news from the weekly stat check was good. The nationwide case decline continues. At this rate, it will soon drop below the level of last May, the lull between the initial onset and the big wave in June. Nonetheless, five hundred people a day are still dying from this disease, here.
Washington State finally has something to show for its vaccination progress. New cases have fallen about 35% over the last week. Many states started faster with vaccines, but Washington has caught up, surpassing all but New Mexico, Hawaii, and the Northeast, including Maryland, per capita.
Nationwide, the addition of the twelve to fifteens has reversed the downward vaccine trend for the moment, though first doses remain under 800 thousand per day. We will get more than half the population vaccinated, after all.
