During morning watering on Wednesday, I discovered evidence that something rabbit-like had visited our new sage plant, and Nicole discovered a potato we missed last year growing in the same pot.
We transplanted it to the vegetable patch in the back. In with the ginkgo in the back was a volunteer I noticed yesterday. Inspecting the leaves, I decided it must be a horse chestnut, so I pulled it out. Bingo.
That's about enough excitement for one day, right?
After work, the kids were playing on the back deck, so I sat in the living room to read. The sun was shining through the windows. After dinner, the deck was free, so Nicole and I sat out there for a while, I reading, or at least looking through a book, and she playing Splendor again. We finished season two of our show upon returning inside.
Wednesday the principal at Rachel's school announced they'll have vaccinations there on Monday the 24th and again three weeks later. We're still hopeful Rachel can tag along with us on Monday, but it's still not settled. The CDC recommended the vaccine today, but I haven't seen an official change in eligibility from the state yet.
Colin still has his tooth. I tried to extract it with the help of a caramel, but to no avail. Colin did let me wiggle it a little after that, but it isn't quite hanging on by a thread: I think maybe two. Colin also tried to convince Nicole that she was singing "La Cucaracha" wrong, and told her it was "chucaraca". Silly kid.

I'm surprised the sage would be bothered. Normally herbivores don't especially like strong savory herbs.
There wasn't any sign of nibbling on the plant, just droppings on the soil.
