Lascours C19 Life, Day 743

Monday, March 28th

Neelane's mom told me this morning she had heard that the mask mandate in schools was soon to be reinstated, though nothing has as yet come down any official channels. Last week, I heard on the news that Covid cases in schools were up 55% over the previous week.

On my way to work, I stopped at the pharmacy in Roquevaire to pick up more Covid tests for the girls. I figure I might as well stock up whenever I have coupons for free tests as this doesn't seem to be going away. The pharmacist told me they were out as they were the on-call pharmacy yesterday and there had been high demand. I'll have to go back to pick up my tests tomorrow once they've restocked.

Three more students are out with Covid, which may be the most I've been notified about in a single day.

It had seemed to me that mask use amongst students had increased a bit last week and then gone down again yesterday. For the first time since March 14th, I counted again. There were no masked students at all in two of my first three classes. Class 1: 0/12; Class 2: 5/17; Class 3: 0/19; Class 4: 2/17; Class 5: 3/14. That comes to nearly 13% of students present wearing masks. That's actually higher than March 14th, however attendance is down quite a bit as we approach the end of the semester.
