Monday, March 14th.
Mask mandates are lifted today, except for in public transportation and health care facilities. The vaccine pass is also lifted, except for health care workers.
The girls and I donned masks as usual before heading to school. Out front, only a small percentage of children and parents were wearing masks, but most of the kids in Maëva's class were.
Before heading to the university, I stopped at the post office in Roquevaire. Both employees were masked. I didn't pay attention to the few other customers.
When I arrived at work, I discovered another email from a student who is out as a Covid contact case. My colleague who shares the office with me on Mondays was masked when I arrived. Many of the staff I passed in the halls were masked. However, it seemed as though I encountered fewer masked people as the day went on. Even a colleague who arrived at the university masked was maskless by end of day. It sort of felt like there was a gradual collective realization as the day went on that it was really okay to no longer mask. I kept a record of masked students in my classes: 1st class - 6 masked out of 16; 2nd class - 9/18; 3rd class - 4/22; 4th class - 2/22; 5th class - 2/15.
I guess this is an appropriate day to end the Lascours Lockdown series. Covid is still affecting our lives, but with most restrictions going away, there's finally little lockdown left to speak of.

It was a good run. It's fitting to end now. It seems no one wants it to reach the two year mark tomorrow.
