Girls did tennis and drama today.
No better success with Internet stability at the university. It only worked for the first 2.5 of my 4.5 hours of class.
On the drive home, the radio was broadcasting a speech by the Minister of Health. It was quite lengthy, but I remember a few things. Nationwide, six percent of tests are now coming back positive compared to five percent one week ago. Marseille has now been classed along with Guadeloupe in the Extreme Covid Watch category. The only thing higher is Public Health Emergency which would mean another complete lockdown, I think. The new ranking means stricter measures starting Saturday and lasting at least two weeks. For example, closure of all bars, restaurants and gyms. No large gatherings allowed. No gatherings of more than ten people. People are encouraged to work from home whenever possible. It is as yet unclear to me what effect, if any, this will have on schools and universities. That was not addressed. The Minister did say that cultural institutions such as museums, theaters and movie theaters could stay open because they have special health and social distancing protocols in effect.
