Sunday, July 5th. Reopening Day 56.
The cicadas started singing away shortly after 6am so I knew it was going to be a hot day.
My morning was spent helping Sylvain with couscous and orange salad and setting up the veranda. My afternoon was spent hostessing and eating couscous. My evening was spent cleaning up after the party. Everything turned out delicious and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. There were ten of us in all.
The girls spent the day with Marie-Elisabeth, Jackye and Gabrielle hiking to a waterfall somewhere near Brignolles and having a picnic. They waded in the glacial-colored water which was reportedly quite cold. When they got home, they ate their dinner by the pool with our guests and had a swim before bed.
One of our guests is a social worker for a child psychology unit attached to a Marseille hospital. From her, we learned that there had in fact been three school closures in Marseille in June due to Covid-19 cases, so one more than the two I'd already known about.
