Zippier Zippy

Zippy the Bolt had major surgery yesterday - replacement of the main power battery. Tuesday I'd taken the car in to Sandy Oregon (about an hour away) and got a loaner car. The work was done yesterday, and this morning I drove back and picked it up. A few of the original batteries had faults that could cause fires, and because GM and LG (the latter actually manufactured the batteries) couldn't determine a reliable way to tell which batteries had the defects, they decided to recall them all. As a result, after 3 years Zippy now has a brand new battery and a new battery warranty. The new battery is newer technology, and has 10% more power than the old one. So, better than new!
