Lascours Lockdown, Day 59

Tuesday, May 12th. Reopening Day 2.
The girls wanted to make breakfast today. Maëva made Dutch Baby Pancakes. Laureva made chocolate pancakes.
On his way back from grocery pickup, Sylvain saw a pretty bird in the drive unknown to him. Back home, he looked it up. It was a huppe fasciée. Apparently, the girls and Marie-Elisabeth had already seen it. So I'm the only one left . . .
After eight weeks, we finally got a complete grocery order. No complaints this week. Plus, more things are listed as available on the website. Today, I was able to order the baking chocolate, ground cumin, vanilla and canned kidney beans that weren't available last week. Some things weren't available in the sizes or brands I'd usually buy, but I was able to find everything on my list.
Lots of drilling noise around the house today. There are cracks in the façade. They're installing markers to collect data to figure out whether or not they're due to drought conditions. The data collection process will take a year. After that, the façade will have to be redone. Whether or not the problem is deemed to be drought related will have something to do with where the financing comes from for the work, I believe.
Workwise, my day was spent correcting translation homework and finalizing the translation exams with my colleague in order to post them on the university website this afternoon. Later, I got some work news that I'm pleased about. My teaching in the fall is scheduled for just three days a week: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. However, since chances are we'll be working from home, perhaps this won't actually really matter much.

My bread dough rose quite a bit as I forgot about it until after lunch. However, it deflated when I cut vents and didn't rise back up in the oven.
Yoga outside this afternoon in the warm sunshine. Luckily, the workers weren't making too much noise any longer. I discovered my core strength is such, with all this confinement exercise, that I can side plank easily now.
After yoga, I ventured out to the hair salon in the village for a haircut. There was gel at the front door for my hands. We wore masks. Aside from the hairdresser, I was the only one there as she's spaced out her appointments accordingly. I cleaned my hands again on the way out and showered when I got home.
I had left the girls playing outside, but arrived home to find them immersed in a game of Monopoly. They stuck with it, playing for at least two hours.
Today was the first day back for some students. On my walk to the village, I noticed they'd put up metal barriers in front of the school and traced fluorescent lines on the ground to space out families as they wait in line to pick up and drop off kids.
The girls rode their bikes around this evening. Laureva was delighted that hers was easier to pedal, no longer squeaked and went faster! In hindsight, she may never have ridden this bike with fully inflated tires.
The girls went to their grandma's to spend the night, so I settled down with a beer to read Margaret Atwood stories before dinner.

Can you post a photo of the facade?
